Portfolio

I paint vibrant, highly energetic abstract and figurative artworks. My signature element is the arrangement of thick layers of strong colors in a ying-yang pattern, which I like to call Tai-Chi waves.

Next, I use gravitational or centrifugal force to let them flow and communicate among themselves as well as with the painting or photograph that is getting covered by them. The colors are exchanging energies within the light spectrum.

My works advocate for communication and exchange, which are important aspects for equality and living in peace. Their strong colors encourage people to stop in their tracks to marvel, wonder, ponder and dream.

Turn your life colorful!

Centrifugal

The centrifugal artworks are created with a centrifugal machine in thick layers of acrylic color on linen canvas.

Of each physical artwork, there is a digital NFT. With the use of artivive app, the physical artworks or a picture of it can be scanned and the digital, moving NFT will be shown on the screen.

Enjoy the flow

Gravity

The gravitational flow of color stands for communication, exchange, equality and peace.

Communication, exchange and equality between people are important aspects of living peace.

The world has become a more tolerant place in the last few decades thanks to new technologies, ways of communication and vast possibilities for everyone to achieve dreams. Despite this fact, more people than ever are starving, nationalistic movements or religious thoughts of superiority keep popping up and leaders use them to their advantage, to exploit their people and fight wars. We keep forgetting that we are all more alike than different! Highly developed human beings.

My „Gravity“ paintings are a symbol of peace for everyone to see that we are the same.

I use gravity to co-create them, to demonstrate that even though we might look different, we might live in different areas and have different believes or just a different sex, we are all the same species. Gravity is slightly different at various places even though on the same world, our blue planet. We also are slightly different, each and every one of us – but just like gravity we are more alike than different.

I will paint those artworks all over the world to demonstrate exactly this. I will be inspired by local variations and create a variety of artworks but always co-created with gravity.

I hope those "Gravity" artworks will become peacemakers.

Gravity India

Gravity Artworks created during the Art Residency at "Art><Junction" Udaipur, India from February 14 to March 30 2015.

All artworks were inspired by local traditions and colors.

Some are painted over photographs taken by Antonio in the first few weeks after arrival.

Structurism

Above artworks are acrylics on canvas and work with the flow of color.
Below series are part of my style that I named Structurism. They are created in oil colors and consist of various thick structures that are sharply cut by other structures, some of which are up to several inches thick.
AW - 自然·命脉

A combination of Expressionism, Action painting and sharply cut structures. A great example of "Structurism", the signature style of Antonio. An average of 60 oil color tubes per square meter have been used. All artworks are on Canvas, under-laid with massive wood for protection purposes. Those artworks are almost sculptures.

Panda

The Pandas are filigree artworks with each hair of the panda meticulously painted or carved into the oil paint. For the Panda itself, I stricly use just black and white. The shadow gives it depth and shades of grey. They are cute, embodying the true nature of the Panda that I observed many times on my countless visits to the Panda research center in Chengdu.

Lotus - 荷叶田田

Living in "Lotus-Moonlight-Pond, Chengdu", Antonio felt compelled to paint Lotus Flowers.

Executed in his signature style "Structurism" those artworks have gained a lot of recognition in a very short time.

With the exception of a cork heart of the flowers, everything is created purely in Oil colors.

Landscapes

Most works in this series are inspired by traditional Chinese ink art. Some have but a Chinese touch of temples, pagodas and monasteries, others are dreamscapes of flying mountains like in the old masterpieces. A few show European Castles on Hills.

Buddha

This series shows Portraits of various Buddhas and persons

They might give you a hint to a 4th dimension…Try to reduce our world to only 2 dimensions and imagine your own third dimension and you will have a painting in “Structurism” of this series. They are not created as three dimensional works on two dimensions like from a gothic master but show a two dimensional shape in 3 dimensions, thus creating a natural, theoretically impossible depth

Girls on Bikes

This Series consists of artworks showing Girls on Bikes - sexy figures, sexy bikes. A lot of movement in both of them, strong colors.

The background is created in Acrylic color, the girls and bikes in Oil color.
