Turn your life colorful!
The saint Matilda and Henry I as depicted by U. von Heyden in the late 19th century. Artist Antonio Wehrli mounted the antique print onto a 5mm MDP plate. He then painted his signature style gravity flow over it to increase depth and beauty, thus creating a new conceptual artwork.
Saint Matilda became the first Ottonian queen after her son Otto I restored the Holy Roman Empire in 962 AD. She was considered to be extremely pious, righteous and charitable.
Signed, dated and titled on verso by the artist Antonio Wehrli
