Safe the dates - and Updates

Yesterday I returned from China. It was my first visit to the Middle Kingdom in 2024. In addition to tourism, art was also an important part of the trip. The trip was intense and fantastic. More about the China trip in a moment, first the most important dates for the upcoming events:

On August 10th I invite you and all your friends to a joint painting experience!

For the 675th anniversary of the church in Schwanden, I will paint a monumental gravity artwork in the colors of the Schwanden parish, which will be spectacularly hung on the church tower in a ceremonial act on August 17th, 2024.

On Saturday, August 10th, 2024, you and everyone who wants to join in can paint the canvas laid out on the church square with me between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Hands and/or feet can be dipped in the pots and the colors can be transferred to the canvas by running, jumping, doing a handstand or whatever. The only thing to consider is choosing the right clothes, as the colors will probably not only stick to the screen.

The flyer for the event:

Between painting the canvas, which will take place on August 9th, 10th and 11th, and hanging the painting on August 17th, I am pleased to show the solo exhibition of the Chinese artist Liming Fu at Antonio Wehrli Art Space in Schwanden, Glarus, Switzerland. "Interstellar Traveler's Time" will open on Thursday, August 15th in the evening at 5:00 p.m.

The artist will show paintings and sculptures that he created with the help of artificial intelligence (AI).

Now my review of the time in China:

My family and I traveled to Beijing, Chengdu, other places in Sichuan, Chongqing and Shanghai.

In Chengdu, the VA Gallery and the Chengdu Art Association organized a small but fine solo exhibition for me in a previously unknown place in the southern city center:

For the exhibition at VA Gallery Chongqing-Luzumiao I painted four new dog sculptures.

This time the curator displayed my art in all five rooms of the art gallery.

Curator Vincent Deng's idea of writing a text about the artworks created in Chongqing in September 2023 on old cigarette papers directly on the windows was very exciting. The following words surfaced effortlessly as if flowing naturally:

"Cigarette Packaging Series"

Simple packaging papers that most consider garbage can become art by paying attention and transforming them with a creative layer of colors.

Beauty is often overlooked. Get inspired...

A short saying for other artworks, created on old money and food stamps, also came to me very quickly. Without thinking too much, I wrote:

"No matter where, inspiration is everywhere" - a new slogan...

In Pixian, Pidu and Tianfu Honggu, where I am an honorary citizen, I was warmly welcomed.

The village of Tianfu Honggu asked me for a work of art, which was successfully auctioned off at a charity event to support the further development of amenities for the local population.

And just yesterday, during my return trip, an offline and online group exhibition "Bridging Cultures" began at the Yindi Art Museum in Beijing. Five of my Panda artworks are on display. The exhibition, which runs until August 26, was created in collaboration with Divenci and the opening ceremony was broadcast live online. All artworks in the exhibition are digitally certified as NFTs via the BNB blockchain. The Swiss Ambassador to China, Mr. Jürg Burri, as well as representatives of various embassies and the Chinese government attended the opening ceremony.

The hospitality in China is always beautiful and the rooms in which the meals take place are often fantastic. Anyone who likes Chinese food knows the variety of flavors and each new dish seems even more delicious than the previous one. The last dinner of the trip was in a room on the top floor of a building right on the Bund with a huge private terrace. The view was spectacular:

I hope to see you on Saturday, August 10th and to paint with you.

On August 15th, I would like to introduce you to my good friend and artist Liming Fu, who will be travelling from Chengdu especially for his exhibition.

On August 17th, I look forward to your company when the "Monumental Gravity Schwanden" is hung on the church tower.

Best wishes from Schwanden, Switzerland

Antonio
